Pars Loren is a non-binary performance artist whose work navigates the intersections of migration, identity, and resilience. With an asylum seeker background, Pars’s art reflects their personal journey of displacement and their commitment to challenging societal norms. Their performances often use physical movement to explore the boundaries of visibility, erasure, and freedom, creating powerful critiques of exclusion and oppression.
They advocate for visibility and freedom for marginalised communities. As a dedicated vegan queer activist, Pars integrates their commitment to ethical consumption and sustainability into their artistic practice. Their belief in compassionate living extends beyond diet, finding its way into their performances and creative work, which often highlight the interconnected struggles for liberation whether of marginalised bodies or the planet.
Drawing from their background in sports, particularly swimming, Pars incorporates themes of endurance and struggle, both personal and political. Since 2021, they have participated in EuroGames (Queer Olympics) to increase visibility for trans and non-binary athletes. Their activism is embedded in their creative work, offering a narrative of survival, defiance, and liberation for marginalised communities.
Pars’s performances have been featured in events such as TIN Pride* and the Fluid Vision Event, where they reawakened their signature work, Angel Passing Pasi, an ethereal figure who confronts societal accountability.
